The InkUbator
For Writers and Other Metaphysical Creatures
Metaphor.ink is a community for authors, and others, who write or desire to write in the metaphysical and spiritual genres.
Welcome
As published authors in the metaphysical genre, we recognize a need to create a space for a writing community that explores aspects of the unseen, such as the paranormal, the supernatural, consciousness, and spirituality.
Perhaps you have had an experience you would like to share with others but might feel uncomfortable discussing these topics. Or perhaps you would like to write but don’t know where to begin.
Metaphor.ink is a community that encourages and supports the development of your efforts, regardless of where you may be in your journey. The mechanics of writing is well known and supported by other writing groups. This group, however, focuses on the unique aspects of the metaphysical community that encourages your efforts in a safe and supportive environment.

Your Community Forum
Connect to a community of like-minded writers. No matter where you are in the process, we are here to support you. From lively, topical discussions to hands-on learning, metaphor.ink has something for you.
Regular Meetings
Regular meetings enable you to learn formally from the presenter and informally from the Community. The key takeaway from meetings and other events is for you to move beyond your fear of what people may think and focus on what you want to say, the story you want to tell. Authors who have done this say that the positive responses greatly outweighed the negative—and that you have to “just do it” to find out.
Social Media Linking
We say in other parts of this website how important it is to start marketing your “brand” immediately, no matter what state of completeness your book may be in. People prefer to purchase books from writers they know, especially if the cost of your book is somewhat more than average. One of the things we encourage within the group is to support one another by following other members on social media. This helps broaden the audience for your writing.
Working Forum
Our community is active in both writing, generally in blog and article posts, and in responding to member questions in the community forum.
Conferences
Conferences offer ideas on several topics you need to know—covering the entire spectrum from organizing, to writing/editing, to printing, and finally to marketing. Let the writing skills you need to develop guide which events to attend.
Workshops
Workshops develop one specific aspect of your writing skills. They may cover different periods of time, but the goal is the same—to improve your writing and your writing style.
Retreats
Retreats are different from conferences and workshops in that they are an opportunity to “get away,” to temporarily detach yourself from your day-to-day activities to focus on your writing. The atmosphere is more relaxed and more conducive to thought and creativity.
